The questions about the condition of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's right shoulder persist after he again refrained from throwing the ball deep for the second consecutive Sunday.
Roethlisberger completed 31 of 41 passes against San Diego for 308 yards but did not once throw one deep. His longest completion, of 30 yards, was a 9-yard pass over the middle to Hines Ward, who ran 21 yards after the catch.
Against the Colts the previous week, Roethlisberger completed a flea-flicker of 41 yards in which he threw the ball high and deep early in the second quarter, but that was it for the deep balls that game.
Until his right shoulder was re-injured on a quarterback sneak for a touchdown in the second half against Washington on Nov.
