Adam Jones missed another game Thursday, and this time the discomfort was different.
Jones, who has missed all but two games since Aug. 22 with pain in his left shoulder and upper back after being struck by a pitch in Chicago, sat out Thursday with pain—not soreness.
Jones was awaiting official word from the Orioles' medical staff, but his own diagnosis was that he'd miss a few days and then be back to action. Manager Buck Showalter said he'd evaluate Jones on a day-by-day basis and didn't rule out the possibility of using his young center fielder in an emergency situation.
